Pond For Latty Cove
Site Design, Bid Package Prepartion and Construction Management and Layout.
G.F. Johnston and Associates is providing ongoing services for the continued development of a private property on Latty Cove. This project entails the construction of a 2 acre, 144,000 gallon landscaped fire pond, a 1100 long private road, new stormwater managment systems, electrical and sewerage disposal facilitites. G.F Johnston and Associates has provided all permit applications and representation for all approval processes, inlcuding local Planning Board, MDEP and Army Corp of Engineers. This project is currently in the bid phase process.

Slope Stabilization - Blue Hill Bay
G.F. Johnston and Associates is providing slope stability analysis for 600 linear feet of eroding coastal bluff in Blue Hill Bay. We are providing analyis, permitting and design services for the remediation of the shorefront of a private estate on Blue Hill Bay.

Bulk Propane Storage and Transfer Facilty Trenton, Maine
We have provided Site Planning Design Services including grading, stormwater managment and utility service connections. We prepared pre and post development runoff models for the developement of a 5 acre commercial facility designed to accomodated the bulk storage of 40,000 gallons of propane . G.F Johnston and Associates provided all site design permitting and representation at public hearings required for project approval.

Client -The Village at Ocean’s End
Location – Southwest Harbor, Maine

Description – GF Johnston and Associates is providing consulting services for all aspects of design and construction of a 40 home community. The project includes Town sewer and water The driveway access rises to 120 feet above sea level. The project includes the development of a pier, pool, boat club and events center. We are providing site planning, survey data collection, construction layout and design services for this project.

Client – Maine Coast Heritage Trust
Location – Mount Desert, Maine

Description – Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) is a Statewide land conservation organization. GF Johnston and Associates is providing site planning and design services to mitigate erosion on the side of Acadia Mountain, adjacent to Somes Sound on Mount Desert Island. Prior to MCHT management of the mountain side property, the site became partially developed with roads and retaining walls. Much of this work is rapidly degrading and is requiring permanent stabilization . GF Johnston and Associates has provided site mapping and design plans to stabilize the slopes and remediate the property into a stable state that provides an asset to the community. GF Johnston is slated to manage the construction of the remediation during the Summer of 2009. When complete the site will provide for connectivity to the communities, walking trails and un-rivaled views of Somes Sound.

Client – Mount Desert Island Hospital
Location – Bar Harbor, Maine

Description – Mount Desert Island Hospital retained G.F Johnston and Associates to evaluate and provide solutions for flooding of the ambulance bay at their Wayman Lane facility. With this project our Engineers carefully analyzed each link of the underground stormwater system to determine which sector was exceeding capacity. Following identification of the hydraulically weak link we provided a plan and report highlighting cost effective solutions to the problem.
